Massage has been used for centuries to promote relaxation and healing within the body. And the many benefits we receive from massage can be further enhanced through the use of oils.
Brahmi, or Bacopa monnieri, is an incredible rejuvenating herb that is traditionally used in Ayurveda (an ancient Indian healing system) to support the brain and nervous system. It has been used to strengthen memory and intellect while supporting focus and concentration.
But brahmi benefits go beyond the physical function of the brain. The herb is thought to influence the quality of consciousness, promote subtle awareness, mental clarity, and emotional balance. In Vedic philosophy, Brahman is the Sanskrit name for the universal consciousness and brahmi is a derivation of Brahman that literally means ‘energy of universal consciousness.’ For this reason brahmi is often used to enhance meditation, restore an internal state of calm and connect to a sense of spirit beyond just the physical realm. And massage is one of the best ways to absorb the many benefits of this herb.
For the purpose of the treatment, the brahmi leafs are infused in organic raw sesame oil which in itself is highly regarded in Ayurveda for its nutritive and warming qualities. Before your treatment begins, the amber-coloured oil will be lightly cured by gentle heating. This enhances the potency of the oil and ensures the active compounds are well assimilated during the treatment. You will notice its dreamy scent and the grounding and nurturing effects that it has on the body and the mind.
